Youngest Young Gun Laps It Up !

The Belles are lapping up the youngest Young Guns' lap of Castlewellan lake.......at 3 and ½ years old Alex Harrower biked around the lake – not taking the whole morning as expected by his mum Belle Andrea and brother Young Guns leader Fraser, but in a mere 25 minutes. Given Andrea was on foot, she was wrecked at the end of a fairly intense interval run session !

The lap included a stop at halfway for some gummy sweets, but Alex wasn't for stopping long and after 30 seconds said he wanted to "race" back to the other end of the lake! That he did – on 2 occasions meaning Andrea's all-out sprint wasn't fast enough to keep up....and on 1 occasion resulted in a near splash into the lake by Alex. He hasn't learnt he can't look behind him while cycling and hasn't learnt to use the brakes !

Fraser took every off-road trail he could find away from the lake, which at first proved difficult in trying to keep Alex to the main path. But he did – he has plenty of years yet to "always set the trail, never follow the path" !!
