Some of our Monthlies ditched their bikes in favour of their legs on Sunday to take part in the RunHer event at Stormont. These events are fantastic, well organised, and being all-female are great craic and guarantee lots of chat on the way round to dull the pain of a 5km or 10km run / jog / walk !
Jenny Melville raced away from the MTB event at Tollymore with the kids in the morning, to pick up a new recruit ?! Dianne McKissock, and take part in the 5km at 2pm. Jenny is really going for the multi sport at the moment! This was Dianne's first run event, having only started to jog very recently, and needless to say she was a bit apprehensive. But as expected, she loved every moment and was on a complete high last night. Or was that just the wine, chocolate and Chinese ?!
The Melville kids ran the chicldren's 1km race just before the all-female event proper.
Joy McAleer and daughter Annie did RunHer and Annie bltized around the course 10 minutes faster than last year. That's another runner in that household then!
Go girls!
Ding Dong!
