Bikedock Belles

 The gruelling course was open for practice on Saturday morning and was advisable that all riders made the effort to check out some of the technical sections that put even the most experienced competitors to the test on the day.  Very suprisingly and extremely out of character Cathy, Julie, Debbie Irvine and Joanne Mc Callum 'listened' for once to the advice of the race organisers and managed to make it down for a blast around the course...  The 'Gap Jump' that was one of the main hurdles on the day closely followed by a ropey looking drop off  that rolled onto a steep downhill section.  Joanne elegantly cruised through these sections with  the rest of the girls sensibly opting for the 'Chicken Runs' along with quite a lot of the guys. Jo impressively nailed just about every bit of the course.

The event was well attended with well over 200 riders  pre registered and on the start line ready to brave the elements, thankfully the weather was kind leading up to the weekend,  the course was dry and in great condition with lots of fun, fast, flowy singletrack. Ciara Macmanus had a great performance in the womens elite category putting in very impressive lap times.
