Dromara Coastal: Long Way Round For A Guinness !

The Dromara Cycle Club's annual coastal cycle took place on Sunday 8th May 2011 and can only be described as great ! The route was perfect for the leisure cyclist with a 96km tour and an option of a longer run for those with a few more miles in their shapely pins. It ticked all the boxes of a good day out, great craic and chat with over 250 riders, super weather as the rain held off all morning and the sun shone, picturesque, quiet route, great organisation as always by Dromara CC, and plenty of refreshments at Strangford for lunch and then at the end.
The tour took the riders from Dromara, Seaforde,Killough, Strangford, Kilmore,Ballynahinch and back through an exceptionally windy Dromara. The day ended with plenty of chat and a Guinness (or two?!) in the Dromara football club. Long way to cycle for a pint?!
It was a game of spot the monthlies and only one ding dong shirt could be spotted ! So pencil it in your diary for next year ladies and check out 'Over the Quoile Sunday 22nd May' , no excuses and plenty of time to gat a few miles in on those midweek cycles.
