Thankfully a fellow rider had his head cam on board and managed to catch the action...

On arrival at the Royal Victoria Hospital Julie was stabilised and X-rayed with suspected T11 fracture, a long overnight wait in traction waiting on the confirmation from an MRI scan thankfully it appeared that it was mostly soft tissue damge and severe bruising.

Luckily amongst the riders there was a fire man and an ex SRT member who took lead and had the emergency services on the scene as soon as was possible, given the location of her fall it was not accessible by the ambulance services... 'The lengths Julie will go to to get a firemans lift'... It took 1h30 to get her off the mountain, with her body temperature falling dangerously low.

Spirits have been high over the last week 'with Andrea being on board with the camera from the minute she hit the ground'... Always reliable in a crisis and Julie is now at home making good progress planning and scheming what 2012 has in store...
