Belles: Turbo Charge Your Winter

Posted by Andrea on 16-09-2010 14:27

We Belles don't get the winter blues and we're not going to let you get them either! Winter means continued thrills and spills, with the added adventure and fun of darkness and mud! You know you want to be involved – so come down to Bikedock on Wednesday 22 September at 600-615 pm for a couple of hours and find out what fun and frolics you can be involved in over the next few months. Excitement is out there for all ranges of ability, let us show you the way!

The successful Wednesday social spins are coming to a close given the fading night-time light, but that doesn't mean an end to cycling. The Belles hope to run turbo training sessions on a regular basis and will welcome your feedback about this, and running puncture repair/safety courses, when you come along on Wednesday night. And then there are such things as bike lights, for some adventurous night-time pedalling!

There are also a variety of other sporting events, some of which are aimed at novices, in the coming months. We have dates and event details and will enlighten you on the night.

As well as continuing to spread the word and encourage females back onto their bikes and into varied activities, the Belles are eager to build upon the early success of the Young Guns and inspire kids out into the great outdoors. The benefits for both the kids and mums (and aunties and sis-in-laws…and grandmothers!) are wide ranging.

Belle Andrea will let you into the secrets of adventurous motherhood !! (but any stunts she does are not to be tried at home, or on your children!). And of course the kids avenue is very topical at the moment with the impending arrival of Baby Belle! (Cathy, not one of the other 3 Belles – as far as we know!).

C'mon girls! Don't miss out on this social evening to mingle with like-minded females (and the 4 Belles….who you don't really want to be like-minded with!) and to find out what all there is out there for you to keep your pedalling up and get set for a fun-filled winter season.

Ding Dong!

Andrea

Hi BdB’s,

I have just moved to Belfast for my PhD in sociology of sport. I read on your website about the meeting on the 22nd. Is it ok for me to come? Could you give me some coordinates of where to go and how to get there? That would be great!

Thanks, Pauline
