Baby Belle Finally Arrives…In True Belles’ Lastmin.com Style

Baby Belle arrived at 11:58pm Monday night, a healthy baby boy, in true Belles' lastmin.com style and that befitting of an endurance athlete! Having gone into hospital at 8am, Cathy had a long, slow, steady day....and by 1030pm last night it appeared that nothing was going to happen in the foreseeable future.
However the wee mite gathered up all his strength after the endurance session, and made a last minute sprint for the finish line. A speedy 90 minutes at the end of it all. It has to be said that this was aided by Cathy's determination not to have a Caesarian! The consultant arrived back late last night with a view to giving her one (a section that is!) because Baby Belle was starting to struggle and his heartbeat was dropping. The consultant told Cathy, "right, you have 10 minutes to deliver this baby or we're doing a Caesarian" ...... that kicked her into action!! A normal delivery ensued!
Cathy and Baby Belle (he's just too young to be called a Young Gun yet!) are both doing well. He weighed in at 7lb 10oz. No name yet.
Woo Hoo ! Back to the days when "gel" refers to the energy variety, not a pesary!

pps "auntie" Julie says it was the worst endurance event she herself has ever done....and doesn't want anyone of the 4 of us getting pregnant ever again!
ppps "auntie" Taryn says "oops, too late" jooooookkkkkkeeee !! she actually says, "awww, the cute wee stubborn endurance baby!"

No contest, no way - Cathy’s tandem photo is wayyyy more special than my backy photo. The other difference is YOU sent my one to the paper… don’t think I’ve forgotten that!
