Bikedock Belles

The three's team name is "Average Joes in the Buff", now under their 2nd year of sponsorship from Buff. The mixed team comprises of one of the original "Joes", Ivan Park of CCAR (who was male Team winner at Galway Rat Race last year along with Paul McArthur); fellow CCAR team mate Steve Curry and Andrea Harrower of the Bikedock Belles (two-time Female Pair winner with Monthly Jen Watson at the Belfast Rat race 2008 & 2009 events).

In Bristol, Andrea, Icvan and Steve finished 5^th Mixed team and 8^th overall out of 91 teams. London is a much bigger prospect with a couple of hundred teams entered.

The London race start at 5pm Saturday with the Mean Streets. The Mean Streets lasts from 5pm to 7:30pm and involves running around checkpoints in the city centre. The course is entirely up to you – navigating your way around as many checkpoints in the 2½ hour window. Each checkpoint has a different points value, which you only find out after the starting hooter sounded at 5pm.

On Sunday it's the 9 To 5 (ie 9am start - 5pm finish) and a distance of around 65km is covered by bike, but includes various activities, on-road and off-road. You can expect to be running, kayaking and abseiling for short spells during the day.

Organisers have informed racers that the abseil will take place at The Oval - so at last there will be a proper sport in the stadium!
